New Look for a New Year - The ultimate vanity, a newsletter with a picture of me. Well, no sense hiding anymore, for I spill it all in the novels I publish. This outer hull is nothing compared to what you read of me!

Progress Bar - Well, the progress bar would simply be a period since the last issue. Okay, that's not true. (True friends, you know who you are, please continue to deride me for being disingenuous.) Truth is, I've revised and edited a 100,000 word novel since last newsletter. So, that's progress, but not "trackable."

Writer's insider - Hot water with honey, a snowcap, a space heater, and I'm still chilly. It's cold in the closet. I write better when I'm comfortable. It's a dramatic difference. If I'm hungry, sleepy, etc. I can still crack on, but I never reach my Flow state unless I'm comfortable. Learn about Flow.

Gold Nugget - For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also (Matthew 6:21). I love the little things. Ask anyone; I hold on to tidbits like a Jackdaw. This week, my treasure is a little LED reading light. I am up all hours of the night, and it is my boon companion. Video on it.

Snip, snip - Everybody likes a free sample, so I'll share a snip with each newsletter. Here's a clip from Lost and Found that explores characters' motives, theologies and philosophies in dialogue. You like? From Chapter 47

MARK LANDON JARVIS Treasure Trove Newsletter Great news in Science-Fiction and a Freebie just for you. What's Up? Spring Break. Let me first say, it ain't what it used to be. My Spring Break has been doctor's appointments and handyman work around the house. No Cabo or Daytona for this old man. Spring Break has afforded me the luxury of sleeping in until 7am, a time or two. On a subzero, wind-chill morning, I didn’t feel guilty about skipping the walk with my beagle. That’s the full extent of...

MARK LANDON JARVIS Brave Tomorrows, Together YESTERDAY was my two week's notice. That is, yesterday I was to hit send on my (sometimes) fortnightly newsletter. Friends tell me to set an alarm in my calendar. (That would require me to remember something else to do!) My wife tells me to pull my head out of....the sand. Anyway, here's the latest installment. AUDIO BOOKS There's no reason you should know/care about this particularly, since you're likely a consumer and not a producer of audio...

Author newsletters need to be more honest. Writing's difficult and lonely. It's worth it when you read this newsletter. (I need a graphic artist!) This is the second Thursday in January '25 and a long while since my last newsletter was issued. I welcome myself back. I welcome you back. You'll want to read this one, click something. It'll make me feel good and you'll gain something for yourself along the way. [Gads, 50 words spent already!] I don't wrestle with many demons in my newsletter. I...
